I am not a gun guy, I shoot twice a year for the Army Reserve and maybe once or twice in between for fun. However, this bill worries me. The date is in 2008, so how can I tell if it has been passed? If it has not been passed who should I call to voice my opinion against it? Any help would be nice.

I'm confused, this bill only talks about encodeing the ammo. You are talking about losing the guns altogether??

Lucky for me I'll be overseas by midsummer with my wife and kids home by themselves.

I have not read the entire bill, but I was told that all ammo would need to be "encoded" and that you could not longer posess unencoded ammo. That way the government would know who has what. You would have to file paperwork showing the disposition of it periodically as well. I still remember the sign at Charlie Buckley's store that read "When guns are outlawed, only outlaws will have guns". All this bill would do is take the ammo out of honest hands. Outlaws will still have all they need or want......

The whole things a crock in my opinion. In times like these we need our right to bare arms more than ever. What's next tattooed bar codes w/ our ssn on the back of our necks???

Slithering,
An item that we are in agreement on, I will mark this day! April 21, 2009. Not only should the citizens have the ability to own guns, we should have the ability to have the same type of guns the government has!!! The only time government stays in check is when they have a healthy fear of their citizens!

Not all ammo would have to be encoded, just ammo for 'Assault' weapons. In the version I looked over there was a list of the badder guns They want to limit Our use of. I wish They would remember that They are s'posed to be Us.

Ain't gonna happen in this state. On a side note, anyone tried to buy pistol or popular rifle ammo lately? Good God! Glad I'm sitting on a ton. .308 is $2 a round for 168 grn match grade. Absolutely recokulous.

Do you really think you can sell that .308 for 2 bucks a round?

Ummmm......look around on the net assclown or better yet, go down to the 1500 on May 29 and see what the price is. Yes, it's that high and yes people are buying it. It was only a buck a round in April but the price has gone up.

Not only are the vendors able to move the product at $1 per round for cheap surplus and $2 a round for Fed 168 hpbt sierra match, but I have purchased it for these prices. So, some might say that since I have given in to this, I am part of the problem: supply and demand.
Some say "If you are not part of the solution, you are part of the problem." I say "If you think there is a solution, you are the problem".
